1. The right to a world class education for their child

Every student deserves an innovative, rigorous, high quality education that prepares them for college and the careers of tomorrow.

2. The right to a skilled and trained teacher in every classroom

Teachers bring curriculum to life and can inspire children with their passion for the subjects they teach. Every student deserves a teacher who ensures they are getting the most out of their education.

3. The right to equity in schools

Every student – regardless of geography, race, income level, or disability status – should receive an education rooted in uniformly high standards and assessments that provide teachers with a common language and students with an individual roadmap to academic success.

4. The right to have every school adequately funded

Students should never be pawns in political fights over the education budget. For all of our children to succeed, every school needs to be funded adequately.

5. The right to timely and informative communication with the school

To ensure parents are an equal partner in their children’s education, school leaders need to establish effective communication channels between the home and the classroom.

6. The right to a safe school for their child

A child’s school is their home away from home. For students to reach their full potential, we must ensure that the classroom is safe from violence.

7. The right to a classroom free from outside influences disrupting their children’s education

Students do best when politics are left at the school house door. Special interests looking to influence education policy to suit their short-term political goals sell our children short.
